BASTIAN - INSTITUTE DIRECTOR & CEO
Nine is a community for coliving and coworking on the beautiful island of Tenerife, Spain. During their stay, we ask our Digital Nomads to share their stories.
What’s your background?
I have a background in political science and IT. I worked as IT consultant for a while until me and my brother built our own company. We are based in Berlin but realised we can now work from anywhere. That’s how we found out about coliving and why we joined the digital nomad train.
How long have you been working remote and what are you currently working on?
This was my first experience as a digital nomad and it was a test if the lifestyle is right for me. And it feels right! Right now I‘m working on my own project - an online business institute (www.ibm-institute.com).
Why do you think Tenerife and the Canary island is a good destination for digital nomads?
When it’s getting cold and dark in Berlin during the winter, there’s still a place you can escape to for chasing the sun. Flight tickets are quite cheap and since Tenerife is in the E.U., getting there is quite simple. Plus, you can do wonderful hikes in Anaga in the north or around Pico del Teide.
What is your favorite thing about Nine Coliving?
I simply cannot name one thing. It’s the combination of great people (10 to 12 motivated minds) plus a great place (wonderful house with big rooms and great roofgarden) plus a beautiful location (city centre of La Orotava) plus a great host (Anne and her team are doing a great job!).
